Pysanka Decorated Eggs
In time for Easter, explore the art, symbolism and joy in creating Pysanky - Ukrainian decorated Easter eggs. You will be guided through all the steps of transforming a plain egg into a work of art. Adult and/or teen students will learn the age old Ukrainian method of writing Pysanky. We will apply a series of melted beeswax and dyes to create traditional and individually creative patterns. When complete, the wax is melted off, revealing the vivid colors. This pysanka, or Ukrainian Easter egg, can then be displayed on a stand, or hung as an ornament. Instructor will supply all needed materials and supplies to create 1 or 2 Pysanky Eggs. No experience necessary, all levels welcome.

Your teacher, Basia Andrusko, grew up in a Ukrainian family and learnt the art and traditional of writing Pysanky Easter Eggs at an early age.
