Pumpkin Pysanka Eggs
Explore the art, symbolism and joy in creating Pysanky - Ukrainian decorated eggs. You will be guided through all the steps of transforming a plain egg into a work of art which resembles a tiny jack-o-lantern. Adult and/or teen students will learn the age old Ukrainian method of writing Pysanky. We will apply a series of melted beeswax and dyes to create traditional and individually creative patterns. When complete, the wax is melted off, revealing the vivid colors. This pysanka, or Ukrainian egg can then be displayed on a stand, or hung as an ornament. Instructor will supply all needed materials and supplies to create 1 or 2 Pumpkin Pysanky. No experience necessary, all levels welcome.
Class runs approximately 4 hours.

Your teacher, Basia Andrusko, grew up in a Ukrainian family and learnt the art and traditional of writing Pysanky Easter Eggs at an early age.
